How To Reset ANY TYPE Of Oura Ring In 2 Mins?

How To Reset ANY TYPE Of Oura Ring In 2 Mins

For those who are seeking to buy their next wearable our suggestion to them would be to take a look at Oura Rings. Granted they are not very common at this point neither a household name like others, the ability of these smart ring is far beyond what you and I could've imagined. For sure it would be lunacy to suggest that they are similar to likes of what Apple has produced in this year - Ultra 2 or Series 9. It wouldn't be wrong to suggest either that Oura Ring can compete with Apple's line-up.

However, just like all the watches and the rings an Oura Ring can also find itself in trouble and it is at this stage when we began to hunt for a solution. You are trying to monitor your heart rate but your ring is unresponsive? You want to see sleep stats but they haven't been updated? In these cases the best course of solution is to reset the Oura Ring. How you can do it is all what we are going to talk about today!

Information You're Finding!

An Oura Ring can be easily reset. Just place it on the charger till its 50%. Go to the Home tab (in Oura app) scroll down to Tools and tap on Factory Reset. Also later remove the Oura from your phone Bluetooth settings.

Should You Reset Oura Ring?

As we mentioned above that while Oura Rings are just as powerful and perhaps even expansive as likes of Apple Watches what we need to understand is that they can also run into trouble. Which means your Oura Ring can stop tracking a particular metric. Or it can stop interacting with your mobile phone.

Which if you are familiar with Oura is vital to its working. Given the minute size there is no display screen on these smart rings so your phone is all you have to see the peek of what’s happening inside the Titanium body. Much like Bellabeat and WHOOP, yes.

So, in order to solve issues like these while there are solutions that Oura itself recommends sometimes when nothing is working the best thing you can do is start all over again. Although we would like you to pursue different options before you settle for this. No one really likes doing everything from the beginning then no matter how romanticized it can become.

Another point to note here is that many people who don’t adjust with the working of a smart ring choose to sell it. Since Oura Ring is already a niche product it can be difficult to find the right person to get your money back. So, if you are looking for resetting the Oura for this purpose then by all means please go ahead and keep reading. Although, once again we would like to suggest that you do this far far away from a pawn shop. Those people in there hardly ever gives a fair price.

What Happens To Back Up Data?

According to Oura itself your data which has been backed up to your mobile phone or by an extent your account is NOT AFFECTED by the factory reset. So, if you are concerned that you will lose that then you have nothing to worry about.

This also plays a part for those who are seeking to upgrade their Oura Ring. With no confirmed news for Oura Ring 4 many people are buying the Gen 3 and if you are worried that your data will be erased then that is not the case. You can simply reset your Oura Ring (let’s assume its Gen 2) and your data backed to your Oura account will sync with your new ring in no time.

Resetting Oura Ring

Although, there might be little difference between the steps you would’ve to follow to sync the data to already used Oura Ring and to the new one. But that is concern for another day. Right now we need to know the exact steps to reset the Oura Ring within a minute.

Steps To Reset Oura Ring

Resetting your ring to its factory settings will only erase the data stored on the ring itself. Previous data history that has been synced to your Oura account will not be affected. Which means that data can be later used on both the old ring or the new one you just got.

To perform a factory reset on an Oura Ring follow these steps:

  • Ensure that you have a stable internet connection
  • Place your ring on the charger until it reaches at least 50%
  • Go to the menu bars icon menu in the upper left-hand corner of the Oura App’s Home home icon tab
  • Select settings icon Settings > Back up all data
  • When the backup is complete, take your ring off the charger and place it on a flat surface
  • Factory reset your ring by selecting the ring ring battery level icon icon in the upper right-hand corner of the Home home icon tab > swipe left > scroll down to Tools > tap Factory reset
  • When the factory reset is complete, keep the ring off the charger and on a flat surface without moving it for two minutes
  • In your device’s Bluetooth settings, remove your ring (“oura_A038xxx”) from the list of connected devices

Once you’ve completed the ring factory reset, your Oura App will display a “Connect your Oura Ring” message, indicating that the process is complete and your ring is now cleared of all previous data.

You Can Always Connect Oura Ring Back!!!

In order to connect your old ring (the one which you have factory reset) you can simply just tap on the Continue button from the mobile application and this will initiate the syncing procedure. As for the new ring (the one you just got) there is little difference to the steps we have told you about. Put your ring on the charger. If you’re using a Gen 3 charger, the LED will blink blue to indicate that your ring is ready to be paired. Then make sure that your device’s Bluetooth is enabled.

If you skipped the above factory reset steps:

  • Select the ring Icon_Ring_Battery.png icon in the upper right-hand corner of the Home Icon_Home.png tab.
  • Swipe left.
  • Scroll down to “Tools” > tap “Set up a new ring”.
  • Select “Begin setup” > “Skip” > “Set up a new ring”.

Select “Connect” and follow the in-app instructions to pair your new ring to Bluetooth and sync with your account. It is that easy!
