Is iTouch Watch an Apple product?

Is iTouch an Apple Product

If you were to ask 10 people in a group have you heard of the tech brand called 'Apple?' 99% chances are all ten of them would reply with a resounding 'Yes.' However, at the same time, if your follow up question to them goes like: 'Great! What about WHOOP? Have you heard of it? They make smartwatches too!'

I don't think the response would be the same, and that brings an interesting premises for us: Apple is more than a company dedicated to manufacture tech devices. Instead Apple is a brand, and not just any brand, but a brand that inspires billions and encourages trillions.

No, iTouch is not a part of Apple Inc. It's a different company that just happens to have the letter "i" in its name.

Is iTouch An Apple Product?

To answer the burning query in everyone mind.

If your still wondering is iTouch part of Apple portfolio then let’s make it clear: No. iTouch isn’t part of the Apple Inc. It is a separate company that happens to have alphabet ‘i’ in its name. Although, it is pretty interesting that they decided to go with a name that clearly would never be associated in living memory with their brand, at least in our living memory.

If I wasn’t trying to be analytical I’d say it is a coincidence, but is it? Is it just a mere coincidence that rather an unknown brand that competes in the same market Apple leads happens to just name their products that would clearly arouse confusion in minds?

I don’t think so, and I have my reason, and you know it: Apple is more than a brand!

Apple Transcends Culture & Innovation

On January 9th, 2007 when the clock ticked to 9:41 PM an aged man with a beard and shiny grey hairs standing on stage did something that changed the tech world forever. Fast forward to today, his legacy lives around the smart devices that he wanted to call iPhone.

iTouch is not an Apple Product!

Even though it was just a phone. Even though phones were around for decades before iPhone arrived. What Apple made possible in 2007 led to a change that had ever-lasting effects. They revolutionized the mobile computation. At the time no one had imagined something like it could be possible yet somehow Apple defied the human imagination, and this is what makes them what they are: A cultural phenomenon. A symbolic representation of innovative thinking.

So perhaps even if the name iTouch for iTouch wasn’t a coincidence. it could be thought of as a motivating factor or mimicking factor. And can we blame them for it?

iTouch On The Right Path?

For any company out there that is trying to find its feet, it is not easy to establish firm ground. Fitbit took 2 years to actually release a product. Amazon had to go through a lot of tumultuous changes to finally find its identity. Tesla almost went bankrupt in 2008. It has never been easier, not for anyone, as is the case with the iTouch.

However, even if you are a startup you can make sure your chances of survival, or hope of growth. Even if competition in the market is tough. Even if the competition is Apple.

“But how? How can iTouch make sure they are able to mark their presence in smartwatch world?”

Well, they can always try to start with basics, and basics are not hard to stick:

  • Research the market: Conduct a thorough market analysis to understand the current trends, consumer preferences, and competition in the smartwatch industry. This will help them identify gaps in the market and determine the best approach to take.
  • Develop a unique value proposition: Consider what sets their products apart from others on the market. This could be a unique feature, a different design, or a lower price point, basically working towards forming a brand identity. Apple did it. Fossil did it. iTouch can do it too.
  • Focus on user experience: Make sure smartwatches are user-friendly and provide a smooth and seamless experience for users. This will help to differentiate iTouch products from others on the market and make them more appealing to consumers.
  • Partner with other companies: Consider partnering with other companies in related industries, such as fitness companies or health-tech startups. This will help them leverage their expertise and reach, and increase your chances of success.
  • Invest in marketing and advertising: Make sure to invest in marketing and advertising to raise awareness about the brand and help build a loyal customer base. This could include digital marketing, influencer marketing, and traditional advertising.

iTouch & Apple: What’s Next?

It might take hundreds of years before iTouch reaches the level where Apple currently finds itself. It might never happen too.

However. Although. Even after it.

I believe in stories. I believe a good story is worth more than gold and the dollar. And in my lifetime it would be a pretty great story to not only read but hear: All ten people saying ‘Yes’ when asked about the iTouch.
